Dry Ice is solidified carbon dioxide (CO2). Distinct from regular ice, Dry Ice is extremely cold (-80 C). Dry Ice does not melt, instead it sublimates, releasing CO2. You cannot store dry ice (it will evaporate within 1-2 days even if stored in a freezer), therefore you need to obtain it or have it delivered close to the time it will be used.
Dry Ice is strictly not for consumption - it is used only for visual and cooling effects.
